Another Journey To Platinum article and surprise surprise it's yet another Call of Duty game XD I honestly do play other games, no really, I do! It's just that for whatever reason when it comes to CoD titles, I never make an effort to Plat them at the time but instead always come back at a later date. Anyway, you probably know the score by now, Single player trophies in this part and Multiplayer trophies in part two. As SP CoD trophies go, I think these are pretty straightforward, roughly half of them require you to beat the game on Veteran, which is of course not easy but it's not the hardest campaign to date. The rest of the trophies consist of some trial and error tasks, rounded out by a couple trophies that will require you to play a little differently to how I imagine you would normally play.
------------------
Back in the Fight - Start the Single Player Campaign on any difficulty.
Trophy pops shortly after you load the first mission, kinda hard to miss lol.

Wet Work - Take back New York Harbor. Complete "Hunter Killer" on any difficulty.
Carpe Diem - Escape the mountain safe house. Complete "Persona Non Grata" on any difficulty.

Vive la Révolution! - Reach the church. Complete "Eye of the Storm" on any difficulty.
Requiem - Escape the city. Complete "Blood Brothers" on any difficulty.
Storm the Castle - Discover Makarov's next move. Complete "Stronghold" on any difficulty.
Bad First Date - Find the girl. Complete "Scorched Earth" on any difficulty.
Diamond in the Rough - Rescue the Russian President. Complete "Down the Rabbit Hole" on any difficulty.
Part of the story, so can’t be missed, just follow the games direction.
------------------
The Big Apple - Complete "Black Tuesday" and "Hunter Killer" on Veteran difficulty.
Out of the Frying Pan... - Complete "Persona Non Grata", "Turbulence", and "Back on the Grid" on Veteran difficulty.
Payback - Complete "Mind the Gap", "Goalpost", and "Return to Sender" on Veteran difficulty.
City of Lights - Complete "Bag and Drag" and "Iron Lady" on Veteran difficulty.
The Darkest Hour - Complete "Eye of the Storm", "Blood Brothers", and "Stronghold" on Veteran difficulty.
This is the End - Complete "Scorched Earth", "Down the Rabbit Hole", and "Dust to Dust" on Veteran difficulty.
In order to earn the Platinum trophy, you'll eventually need to beat the entire campaign on Veteran difficulty, you'll get these as you're working towards that.
------------------
Who Dares Wins - Complete the campaign on any difficulty.
This trophy will appear the first time you beat the campaign, regardless of difficulty.
------------------
The Best of the Best - Complete the campaign on Hardened or Veteran difficulty.
If you think you can cut the mustard, you could theoretically just play the game on Veteran difficulty from the off but if not, make sure your second playthrough is set to this difficulty.
------------------
Strike! - Kill 5 enemies with a single grenade.
Exactly as the trophy description says, kill 5+ enemies with a single (normal) grenade. The problem is finding a group of enemies who are bunched up and remain so, until you manage to chuck a grenade at them. I wasn't able to do this naturally during my two playthroughs, so I ended up doing a search on YouTube, where I found an epic video. I could describe how to do it but trust me, watching the video is soo much better!
> Video Guide on YouTube (I think this was the one I used, either way it was definitely the same tactic)
You might need to attempt this a couple times but fortunately there's a checkpoint that you can reload if you mess up. It's all about timing things correctly, don't cook your 'nade too early or too late and even though it's a suicide run, you don't want to get dropped before actually reaching the group of enemies.
------------------
Jack the Ripper - Melee 5 enemies in a row.
You'll have several oppertunities to do this during the campaign but if for whatever reason you don't get it naturally, just re-play a level on Recruit, use your flashbangs, then rush in and stabby stab.
------------------
Informant - Collect 22 Intel Items.
Scout Leader - Collect 46 Intel Items.
As with previous CoD games, you can either try and find these by yourself or use a guide.
------------------
This Is My Boomstick - Kill 30 enemies with the XM25 in "Black Tuesday."
I was actually quite surprised that I didn't get this trophy on my first playthough, it's pretty easy to be honest, every time you see more than one enemy within close proximity to each other, bust out the launcher and fire away. As far as I know the kills you get do stack across playthroughs, so you'll eventually get it but if you'd rather, just suicide and replay checkpoints until it's done.
------------------
What Goes Up... - Destroy all the choppers with only the UGV's grenade launcher in "Persona Non Grata."
I completed this trophy during my Veteran run, so you could do the same. You just need to resist the urge to tap the other trigger. Also, don't forget that the grenades have drop, so you'll need to adjust your aim accordingly.
------------------
Flight Attendant - Kill all 5 enemies during the zero-g sequence in "Turbulence."
This is one of those hidden trophies. It's not really hard but might require a couple attempts, I managed it on my Veteran run, so it is doable.
------------------
For Whom the Shell Tolls - Destroy all targets during the mortar sequence with only 4 shells in "Back on the Grid."
This trophy is mostly trial and error, the targets will always appear in the same locations but you need to get your timings right in order to land the mortar shots on target (and before they kill you). If you mess up, just restart the checkpoint to have another crack at it.
------------------
Kill Box - Kill 20 enemies with the Chopper Gunner in a single run in "Return to Sender."
I'd be surprised if anyone didn't get this one naturally, basically during the helo sequence, shoot everything. If my memory is correct, I think you can actually fail if you don't shoot the enemies, so really, there's no excuse.
------------------
Danger Close - Take down a chopper with an AC-130 smoke grenade in "Bag and Drag."
I earned this trophy naturally on my first playthrough, as I expect many others will do. The AC-130 does a ton of damage and has a pretty generous area of effect, so when you see an enemy helo hover in a certain location, just chuck out a smoke grenade and watch it get rained on.
------------------
Ménage à Trois - Destroy 3 tanks with a single 105mm shot in "Iron Lady."
I missed this on my first run, not because it was hard but because I was having too much fun, spamming all three guns at the enemies on screen. The 105mm is the big one shot cannon that takes an age to reload, it has a pretty big blast radius and doesn't require a direct hit to destroy a tank. Once you find three tanks grouped together, place a shot in their midst and watch the explosions ensue.
------------------
Nein - Kill 9 enemies with A-10 strafing runs in "Scorched Earth."
Enemies will be moving and can be spread out but the A-10s strike a large area when ordered to attack. Take your time to line up the strafing runs and remember that the attack pattern is a sweeping motion. You'll want to hit as many targets as you can with a single strafing run, don't waste an attack on single targets.
------------------
Like I said at the start, get through the campaign on Veteran difficulty and you've already completed half the trophies. You should be able to earn the rest of the trophies on the way, so long as you remember to do them of course.
