Let's start off with the basics, my name is Alan, I'm a male gamer in my twenties and I'm British (that is to say, I'm from the UK). First things first, what is this blog about? Well basically I enjoy playing video games and I'm also very opinionated, trust me, I could probably start a discussion about anything.
So I figured, instead of talking to myself about the stuff I like in the games I play, why not share them with others? Additionally I really enjoy a good chat, preferably with someone else but I get what I'm given (haha), seriously though, I often talk too much - something my teachers would often complain to my parents about when I was younger XD
Moving on to why you should read my blog? Well the thing about me and games is that once i find a franchise I like, I usually follow it avidly. This means I'll buy the sequels and in some cases even the prequels, if I feel that i should play the series from the start. So when i talk about a game, I can usually discuss what's changed from earlier titles and whether or not these changes have benefited the sequels.
The other thing about me and games is that once I do find a title I really enjoy playing (especially one with an online multiplayer), I can end up playing that one title for a couple months straight (if not more). Spending this much time on a single title and getting good at playing it, means I learn a lot about the game and can probably share a tip or two :)
This leads me nicely onto the subject of my YouTube channels. Currently I have several AcornVision branded channels but the three main ones are AcornVision , AcornVision Gaming and Sir_Alan_ Plays. AV is catered more towards News and discussions whereas AVG is all about gameplay and SAP is, yes you guessed it, all my Gameplay Walkthroughs. I do have a personal YouTube channel [SirAlan89], which I sort of use as an archive for unused footage as well as a platform to rant about stuff lol.
What sort of things can you expect to see on these channels? Well, like I said above, your always going to seem some sort of gameplay on AVG, whether it's multiplayer matches with commentary to single player campaign walkthroughs. In addition to this, I also like creating step-by-step video tutorials, for example how to complete certain trophies / challenges etc.
Moving onto the topic of what games I will be posting about, well I mainly play on my PlayStation 3 but I also dabble in a bit of PC gaming, so the footage you'll see will come from games I play on those. I will eventually get a PS4 but probably not until Uncharted 4 launches. The games I frequently play fall into the category of FPS and Action/Adventure, I do play other games too but I have more of these types of games than any other in my collection.
I sort of aim to review every new game that I play and where needed, produce any tutorial videos that I think you might find useful. Again as I mentioned above, if I find a multiplayer game I enjoy playing, I probably won't be buying another game for at least a month or two, this means I won't be posting about a new game every week but it does mean that the stuff I post will be more detailed and informative.
When it comes to multiplayer, in general I will probably be talking about class builds, approaches to maps, best way to tackle enemies, ideal way to complete objectives, how to earn XP faster, how to unlock certain achievements etc etc This won't be the only stuff I talk about but it will form the bulk of the material I post.
Finally I just want to apologies for the state of the blog, as you can see, I still have a lot of stuff to do before it's up to scratch! But I'm hoping that the content I post is worthy enough of a read, despite the struggles you will no doubt face, when trying to navigate your way around :P
Currently this blog is only a pet project so my posts will be limited but if people like what I post, then I'll try and post even more articles/vids :D
